The bus-powered UAC-2 adds two channels of 24-bit/192 kHz high-resolution audio to any USB 2.0 or 3.0-equipped Windows or Mac computer—even to your iPad.* It utilizes SuperSpeed USB 3.0 technology for low latency and includes advanced features such as 4x upsampling, Loopback, and MIDI I/O.
Our comments: The Zoom UAC-2 offers impressive performance as a recording interface or Analog-to-digital converter for real-time sound analysis. Low noise and high gain range give you the ability to capture both very quite and very loud underwater sounds. Response is very linear (max sample rate, +0/3dB: 7Hz - 70KHz line and mic). The drivers are easy to install and work well. The USB-2 also feels like a professional-quality unit. We can highly recommend it for any user in need of a low-cost recording interface or data acquisition device for underwater sound! Use directly with our H2a-XLR or H3x hydrophones. Also works well with our PA-4 hydrophone preamp. For loud underwater sounds, you can connect our passive hydrophones directly to the Hi-Z input, but for general recording applications, we recommend using the mic input for improved sensitivity.
The UAC-2 offers a long list of features. For complete details, images, videos and user manual, visit the Zoom UAC-2 manufacturer's web page.
